Year 7s engage in 'What's My Job?' event
On 12th May, Judgmeadow Community College was buzzing with curiosity as our Year 7 students took part in the engaging ‘What’s My Job?’ event, organised in collaboration with Leicestershire Education Business Company (LEBC).This interactive careers activity challenged students to uncover the professions of visiting guests by asking a series of yes/no questions – developing their confidence, communication and critical thinking skills along the way.
We were thrilled to welcome volunteers from a diverse range of industries, including:
- Leicestershire County Council
- De Montfort University
- Leicester College
- Network Rail
- Freeths
- Leicestershire Fire and Rescue
- Cavendish Nuclear
- Thorpes Joinery
- Babcock International
- GIS Coordinated Limited.
Their presence offered students a rich insight into the breadth of opportunities available in the world of work.
Our students showed exceptional focus and enthusiasm, asking thoughtful questions and engaging deeply with the activity. A fun fact shared during the session – that the average person changes careers five to seven times in their lifetime – sparked plenty of reflection and excitement about future possibilities.
A huge thank you to LEBC and all our fantastic guests for making this event such a success. We’re proud of our Year 7s and inspired by the professionals who helped bring the world of work to life.
