Un Magnifique Paris Trip
Our French students said “au revoir” to England and “bonjour” to France in late June, as they embarked on a PGL trip to Paris. This was the first time such an experience had been made available to Judgemeadow students and it provided them with a fantastic opportunity to develop their cultural understanding and strengthen their linguistic skills.
They were also able to apply the vocabulary they had learned in the classroom which, this year, included food/drink, asking for directions and transactional conversation in shops and markets.
After a 14-hour journey, via coach and ferry, students eventually arrived in Paris and wasted no time taking in the sights and historical landmarks. They visited Montmartre, the Orsay Museum and, of course, the Eiffel Tower, which was adorned in the famous Olympic rings ahead of this summer’s games.
Students also enjoyed a cruise down the River Seine and had an exciting time meeting Mickey Mouse and friends at Disneyland Paris.
A wonderful time was had by all, and students returned home not only having improved their French skills, but with memories that will last a lifetime.
We look forward to hopefully running a comparable trip for our language students next year, so watch this space!
