Our Senior Leadership Team

Our Senior Leadership Team comprises dedicated and experienced professionals, with each member bringing a wealth of experience and a commitment to our school’s success. 

Sally Howgate - vice principal  

Having gained a history degree from University of East Anglia, followed by and a PGCE from the University of Nottingham, Sally has been teaching since 1997 in both mainstream secondary schools and a special school. In that time, she has been Head of Department, Head of Key Stage, SENCO and Vice Principal.  

Sally is further qualified as a SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and achieved the NASENCO award from Northampton University in 2018. In 2023 she also completed a National Professional Qualification (NPQ) in Leading Teacher Development. 

As Vice Principal in charge of Academic Excellence at Judgemeadow, Sally oversees the curriculum and teaching and learning, working with staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for all students. 

Ms Howgate said: “I love working at Judgemeadow because of the excellent staff who are passionate about making a difference to all our students. We also have amazing students too. They are a pleasure to teach and really want to learn.”

 

Jon Hunt - vice principal  

Jon started his teaching career at Judgemeadow in 2010, qualifying as a Music Teacher under the Graduate Teacher Training programme having previously achieved a degree in Music and Spanish.  

Jon then spent over 10 years working at the City of Leicester College in a variety of roles that included Head of Music, Standards Lead and Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for whole school Behaviour, Attendance, Transition and Pastoral Care.

Mr Hunt rejoined the Judgemeadow team in 2024 as a Vice Principal responsible for Holistic Development. He said: “Having grown up and worked in the local area for almost my entire life, I'm really excited to get started at Judgemeadow. I feel passionate about supporting and working with the local community. I will oversee behaviour, safeguarding and attendance and I am very much looking forward to working with the college's excellent pastoral teams.”

 

Robert Howell - assistant principal

Raised in Highfields and educated in the area, Rob now has since gained over 20 years of teaching experience covering both curriculum and pastoral responsibilities, enabling him to develop a strong pupil-centred skillset.

As a middle manager for 10 years and subject lead with a large body of staff, Rob has a true understanding of teamwork and supporting staff so that they can prepare students for the best future possible. He is a qualified senior leader with an NPQSL, which focused on the pastoral side of teaching, with a specific focus on behaviour for learning, gaining skills he transfers into daily life at Judgemeadow.

Mr Howell said: “I absolutely love working at Judgemeadow and see it as a privilege to be able to work with such great staff as we collectively aim to support the students to realise their potential. Through kindness, positivity, high standards, aspiration and hard work, I want our students to truly believe that anything is possible for them to achieve. To know this is an exciting prospect for us all at Judgemeadow.” 

 

Emma Andrews - assistant principal  

Having previously worked as Assistant Director of Science for Lionheart Educational Trust, Emma joined Judgemeadow in August 2024 as Assistant Headteacher of Academic Excellence. Her areas of responsibility are Quality of Education, Teaching and Learning CPD,  Academic Intervention & Revision, New staff induction (teaching and learning), ECTs and ITT Instructional Coaching.

Ms Andrews said: “I am very excited to be joining the community at Judgemeadow and taking my current experience in progressing teaching and learning and applying it to a whole school level, for the ultimate benefit of the students.”
