Teacher scoops up award at Education Awards ceremony

COVID Update

Following on from rising Covid rates the Government has asked that face masks be reintroduced in all secondary schools for students and staff in communal areas. This is a sensible way to help keep students, staff and our wider community safe from Covid this winter.

Therefore, with immediate effect, we are requesting that all students (except those with a medical exemption) wear a face mask when travelling on school transport, in communal spaces and when queueing indoors for food.
Please remember to continue to perform a lateral flow test twice weekly.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation in keeping our local communities healthy and safe.

Wins Newly Qualified Teacher Award

Congratulations to Somayya who was awarded NQT of the year, at the 2021 Leicester Mercury Leicestershire Live Teaching Awards

December 10, 2021

Live at the King Power Stadium on Thursday, December 9, teachers, students, staff and schools from across Leicestershire came together to find out who would be taking home one of the 14 prestigious awards. We are pleased to announce that Somayya, our Design & Technology teacher walked away with the Newly Qualified teacher award.

She supported her colleagues throughout the pandemic and was the first to volunteer to teach key workers’ students. Somayya even gave up her own time during the summer to help those who had lost out on learning.

The Leicestershire Live Education Awards celebrate and honour the brilliant work and achievements of the region’s best schools and further education colleges. The awards which are headline sponsored by the University of Leicester launched on Friday, July 23, 2021 and recognises outstanding students, teachers and support staff members who have made a real difference or gone the extra mile to succeed.
